Privacy Regions

Privacy regions allow you to block out part of the camera's field of view

Privacy regions allow you to configure portions of a camera's view to be blocked out. Areas blocked by a privacy region will be blocked out on the camera's live feed and in historical footage. Learn more about privacy regions.

Required. You must have Site Admin permissions to configure privacy regions for a camera.

Create a privacy region

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to configure.

  3. At the right of the camera footage, click Settings .

  4. On the left panel, select Privacy > Mark Privacy Regions.

  5. When the grid opens:

    1. Click and drag the area you want to mark as your privacy region. You should see a black box drawn over the area.

    2. Click Done.

Note: The camera may take a few minutes to update.

Delete a privacy region

  1. In Verkada Command, go to All Products > Cameras.

  2. Select the camera you want to configure.

  3. At the right of the camera footage, click Settings .

  4. On the left panel, select Privacy > Mark Privacy Regions.

  5. When the grid opens:

    1. For each configured privacy region, click the X to delete.

    2. The changes save automatically, when finished click Done.

Privacy regions are not retroactive. The camera can take 1 to 2 minutes to update its configuration, after which you will see the privacy region on the camera's live feed and associated historical video going forward.

Note: The D80 does not support privacy regions.
